Futaba Buddy cord conflict?
Indeed, "Someone" was talking rubbish. The only problem you are likely to see is that, with the computer Tx as master, any clever mixing, exponential etc is lost when you hand control over to the 4-ch basic Tx. But provided both tranmitters are set up to fly the model correctly on their own then they'll work fine on either end of a buddy cord.
