whats wrong with a z bend? Is you wire to short?

Can the throttle arm come off?

You could solder a hollow shaft containing a threaded rod the other end on it. Then you use a clevis on the threaded rod.An adjustable Plastic clevis may be best as its not going to wear the hole in the throttle arm away and not cause any metal to metal noise.
