I personally would not know; I do know that teh 5T has the 5B SS kit upgrades (well alot of them if not all of them).
Also, it could be that HPI is trying to take advantage of the demand, which I hope that money will be used to subsidize the development of possibly another 5th scale RC. (****dreaming of a 5th scale Savage 4WD shaft driven!*****)
