Could you weight the two horizontal stabs and see which came our lighter? I've seen that sometimes a built up vrs sheet that the sheet can come out lighter.... I gues that is because of the glue...
I like your hot glue idea - but how do you keep the rest of it from sticking to the board when you ca it?
