The original Crypton buggy did suffer from poor build quality and design faults but the main issue was that the main worldwide importer/distributor and Hurrax failed to provide the upgraded replacement parts without a lot of hassle for the owners.
For Europe, I'm sure that this is not true. Ansmann-Racing (the distributor) offered to all dealers that they may send in the old parts and get a refund. All a dealer had/has to do is order the new parts and send back the old parts as soon as a customer drops them off. So for the customer it was/is as easy as walking into the store, drop off the old parts and grab the new ones.
I fail to see how this could be considered a hassle?!
