Default RE: Jett engine cleaning

Thanks for writing.....

in general, the varnish does not affect the engine much. But cleaning it is not a problem either.

The fins are just the "Head clamp " .... the head button is a seperate piece. So no issue with removing the fins and cleaning them. The hot anti-freeze method works ok, and perhaps follow that with a buffing wheel to make it shine again.

I do not recommend cleaning any internal parts like the head button or piston.

Also...... we recommend a little bit of castor in the fuel. Usually that is only 2% or so..... generally does not make that huge of a mess. Main reason for this is to provide a little protection to the engine, especially for folks running an ABC engine for the first time.

Worth noting though, since the engine has time on it, and you are use to the way it operates ...... using 100% synthetic fuel is ok.
