Tommy ... personally I think its not worth it. If you want to slow her down come in shallow then hold her nose up to bleed speed or flare her good to shorten the glide (on approach ELEVATOR controls SPEED and THROTTLE controls RATE OF DESCEND). Try not to dive so hard on your turn from base leg to final and also come in low as stated earlier on. Hope this helps.
