The actual resistance of the ESC also comes into play as well as the timing. Some ESC's can vary the timing from 1* to 30* the lower setting being the most efficient and used for lower RPM's and lower current higher efficiencies. The 30 degree setting is use for outrunner motors turning higher rpms and will also draw the most current. Typically the default for many ESC's is the lower timing setting.
These are not the only things that come into play either, wire length, gauge. as well as the resistance of the motor, all are factors in how much current you draw.
While the size, pitch, # of blades of your prop plays the major role all of the other things play a part as well.
