RE: Seagull PC-9 120 size...
Mine has an RCGF 20cc , weighs 12.5lbs ,with 7oz lead in the tail - I feel its too heavy ...it struggled into the air, but was on a 16 x 6 prop which is suggested for that engine- I will try a larger pitch next time , and if I am not happy I am changing it to electric, which will drop the weight by about 1.5 lbs.
It would help if it had flaps too....but not at less than 12lbs I think.
It was a stable flyer in the air, but had a motor cut just on approach and subsequently a heavy nose down landing - no elevator response at that airspeed, with no motor running ....it broke the front retract so now I have to find a replacement . Model Engines in AU wholesale these I believe, but their web site is off line - anyone know what is going on there ?
Also did some minor damage to the fuselage and one wing but easily repaired .
Any of you Ozzy guys have access to Seagull parts from them ?
