To beat this to death-

Plan on years before turbines. I've been flying for a decade and I'm comfortable with a 120mph pylon ship but still the though of flying a turbine would make me very nervous.

You will spend thousands of dollars on planes working your way up and then probably $5,000 + on your first turbine model. You will need to be very proficient with large scale complex high wing loading aircraft that can fly over 100mph sustained before you even try out a turbine trainer. It takes years and $$$ to build the skillset to do it safely.

No one wants to discourage you, we just don't want you to jump in over your head and quit of frustration (or worse get hurt)...
