I considered the bench run, but I chose plane run-in instead as it's just simpler in the end. Just make sure you run it with the wings on to reduce vibration effects. Really it doesn't matter and is up to you, but you should be careful to have enough vibration dampening in your bench setup as you will greatly fatigue the engine mounts if not.
