Do some test panels. I've spayed flat-kote lacquers with success. You might try fine wet-or-dry sandpaper on some areas - it makes chrome Monokote look very much like litho. I found steel wool and Scotchbrite pads to leave visible scratches; try different grades perhaps. Do your distressing in different directions to give panel effects, (mask first with tape). You may find it works best if you distress the Monokote panel before ironing it in place. Try rubbing graphite, (sanded pencil lead), lightly in various directions and then fixing the result with flat spray.

But please, do the test panels to make sure it's what you want before doing it on the covered plane!
