Yes it is - simple and strong.
I also do the strutplate almost the same way, but it´s one single piece that goes across the fuselage. Therefore it´s impossible for the struts to come apart.
The main struts themselves are oval aluminum tubes, and the jury struts are done exactly the same way...

The upper terminals were later changed in production to acomodate the new brackets, allowing for axial mount, that is, you can leave the struts on the wing for transport, you just dis-engage the jury struts from the 5/32 LG nylon brackets, fold them down and fold the V-struts, don´t forget to place a piece of rubber foam in-between not to damage the wing´s undersurface, secure the struts with a rubber loop onto the wing´s holding screw...
