Good Evening All, Looking for a backplate on the tank of the Cox Peewee 020 engine. It is the mount for the engine and also contains the needle valve. Any help is appreciated. Individuals or a company who may still have parts for these older Cox engines. Thanks, JK

Vetfever,

for parts you might try the following:

Airfield2000.com
Estes (cox) (800)451-0339

Good Luck,

Try a search right here at RCU. There was discussion a few weeks ago about a plastic back plate with reed & needle valve, but no tank. It may have originally come from a Cox 1/4 a helicopter.

Good luck,
Bob G

Thanks for the reply, I have a couple of the mounting ears broken off of mine that is why I am looking for a replacement. I have found at least one good suggestion out of all the replies. I was trying to avoid Cox themselves as I understand shipping alone can get ridiculous. Thanks again. JK

Vetfever,

That may have been my post that you read about the shipping. It was a surcharge for shipping to Canada that made it expensive.

Send me a PM or email with your address and I'll send you a backplate.

I mailed the backplate today. I wasn't sure if you needed a needle, so I included one.

Merry Christmas

Bipe Flyer, Sure appreciate the help. The needle I have has been working even though it appears a little bent. I have the engine on a BT-70 proflile free flight from about the mid 60's or so. Trying to help my grandson become a modeler and feel you must start from the bottom and work up in difficulty. Even though I fly mainly R/C I still enjoy small free flights from my days as a youngster. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Sincerely, JK

I'm glad I could help.

With that little engine you can start out with F/F and C/L and eventually add a throttle to fly R/C. You are a lucky man to be able to share this hobby with your grandson.
