Something about that vid doesn't seem right. At one point the model is going when the pilot isn't even looking in the same direction as the model. And the engine rpm seems to constant. The plane detail actually looks like it was from a computer simulator and then superimposed to the real field. Take a good close look at the plane, doesn't look real. Looks like a computer image.

Yeah - you can actually see the real pilot sitting over on the grassy knoll!!!!!!! [X(]

Superimposing from a sim, hopefully no one figures out that's what I've been doing the whole time with my vids!!!!

On the first vid at about 1:13, 1:14 or so the pilot is not really looking at the plane. But in the second vid you can see the prop balst on the grass at the end. It still looks weird in my opinion. I don't have any problem with being wrong, but it looks odd at some points if you study closely.

Probably just an alien on the grassy knoll controlling the model with ESP brain waves!

Thanks Hawk!

DA should make a lot a money by selling these expensive German kits? [:-]

399$ for 2m funtana kit, not ARF when you can buy an ARF 2m Katana for 200$ at chief aircraft or GSP!!

I think your right. If you look closely, you can clearly see Elvis in the cockpit.

Scooby, I feel your pain. I am a huge fan of Katanas and really wanted to buy one of the 2.48m Expensiv Modellbau kits. Judging from what they get for the 40% 3.10m kit ($1295 plus shipping), the 2.48m kit would be well over $800 bucks. Considering you can get a similarly sized Composite Arfs Extra (BUILT / COVERED) for the same money, I doubt that DA will be selling many of the EM kits...but then again, I could be wrong. If money were of little or no consideration I would have already ordered both kits...and maybe even the EM Funtana!

Was just checking out their site, did anyone else watch the crash video they have on there? Here's a direct link: http://www.hobbyclub.ru/video/krach.wmv

They're all jet crashes, but some pretty amazing footage.

I'm with Shoestring, that looks like a total green screen layer effect. I'm sure Sebastiano did fly that plane, just not at the same time he was filmed (if thats him in it). Really, the video quality is so bad, it could be Chip Hyde. Now I'm late for my appointment with the Warren commission.

BTW, those crash vids are a riot![sm=tongue.gif] Did every plane crash that day?

Nope, not a green screen effect, it's the real thing. I had a hard time with it at first myself. I think it partly has to do with the overcast sky and lack of shadow from the plane, makes it look funny. However, I took the file into Adobe Premiere and looked at several parts of it frame by frame, with setting the contrast right you can see the shadows and there are a few parts that would be next to impossible for them to have done, unless they work for a Pixar type company for their day jobs. On the first video there is a part at 2:02 were you see a yellow plane with a few people standing next to and near it. Back up a few frames from there at about 1:59 and you can see the reflection of the plane/people on the covering of the underside of the wing as it rolls around before flying over the camera. There are several other points where the covering reflects objets on the horizon and Mr. Sebastiano himself.

The burned down plane was piloted by Vitaly Robertus from Moscow, Russia. It finished the seventh after all sequences. Such result has turned out because it has been compelled to fly by the spare plane. Jet (L-29 Dolphin with dragon picture on board) built by very good builder Valery Makovetsky.

I would feel safer being just beside that great pilot when he does 3D stuff than when i am at my club watching new members trying to fly their trainers!
