F3A team Finland took part in the 1st international F3A junior championships held in Moscow last weekend. Official web pages of the junior F3A championships

Bob Skinner from RSA and Alexandr Goosens from Belgium were invited as international judges to help two local judges. Bob held a brief judging seminar after the event for all interested pattern flyers.

Finland was the only foreign country taking part in the competition.

Four rounds of P-05 were flown. Sergey Butuzov from Russia won the competition followed very closely by Lassi Nurila from Finland. Stas Moiseev from Russia was the third.
The first price was a colour TV set and a two weeks vacation in Italy plus normal diplomas and medals!

The event had lots of interesting coprogram including sightseing tours in Moscow center, Airforce museum at Monino and scientific seminar at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

I hope the junior championships will become an (bi?)annual tradition and more junior pattern flyers can join this fine sport of precision pattern flying!
