Status: offline 		Hey guys... RC Showcase just added an entirely NEW engine to their lineup...

The Roto 35... Looks like it has some awesome specs and priced right at $395 with everything but a switch and battery...

Looks liek a ROCKIN' engine for the 60" Cermark Pitts, DP Ultimate 120, and lots of other 120-140 size planes...

Pertty darn NARROW too for you warbird guys.... Check it out!

Status: offline 		Ah but the all too familiar problem with gas engines for small airplanes. It weighs within a few ounces of a bme 50 ... Just try to get a dp ultimate to balance with that much weight in the nose

Status: offline 		It also weighs MORE than a ZDZ 40 and the new ZDZ 50. Something like the Roto 35 is going to be good for a scale plane with a short nose that needs the heavier engine up front. Heck, why add a pound of lead when you dont have to.

I think it is cute though. The next great gasser is the one that is going to be in the 40cc range and 2 lbs with ignition!

That will be something to see!

Status: offline 		Actually it weigh a little less than the 40 and 50... The weight is with muffler whereas the 40&50's are without. And the SIZE makes it more usable in the smaller planes...

While I agree there are alot of planes it WON'T work with due to balance, there should be quite few it WILL work with....

Comparable to a Zenoah G-38, it's alot smaller and a lb. lighter.

As far as balancing on a DP Ultimate? I had a 2 1/2 lb O.S. 1.60FX w/ Pitts muffler in mine and only had to put my rudder servo in the tail. With another lb in the nose, I could put my receiver battery back there too and balance quite well...

Mine was 12.75... so at 13.75 it's a tad heavy, but if a person wanted to go gas on it... seems this would be the way to go.

Same thing with alot of those 1.40 size planes like the Cermark Pitts & Sukhoi, etc...

I'm with you guys tho... I'd LOVE to have a 2 lb all up gas engine around 35-40 cc...

BME's new 55 Extreme is spposed to be AWEFUL close, but we'll have to see about that when it's released...
