RE: New Mugen Unlimited Race Truck!
Last month, in RC Car, Skinny (of their staff) went over to the Hobby expo and saw this and an RB Innovations hopped up unlimited truck (he wasnt sure what the other one started out as though)
He said the Unlimited from Mugen looked like a giant 1/10 scale stadium, with regular maxx wheels.
Should make even more arguements for ROAR to handle...

I've heard about it. Its supposed to be a conversion for the existing MBX5 buggy. If it is, it will be one of the HIGHEST priced truggies you can own. After seeing the pics of the TTR truggy, i think i'll pass on the mugen. Or even wait for the Hyper RT.

The pics I saw were a prototype with a longer chassis, taller center gear and wheel extenders. The MBX5 chassis is bordering on too thin as it is and the pics I saw the chassis looked to be the same material/thickness as the buggy with the same front and rear braces. I hope the production model has a stronger chassis and better bracing than the one I saw.

There is a top picture of tyler Viks mugen on the Starting grid and more photos coming later. Looks mininum for a conversion but looked like front and rear thurnbuckle braces to me. The TTR looks killer and spec seems to confirm diff gear change;full length arms and longer chassis. Like anyhting;time will tell.

You want a thicker chassis that a buggy chassis.... They are bulletproof jesus... You can't bend them.. buggys are just outright bulletproof lol..

At least the production chassis is hard anodized.

i will prolly be gettin rid of my LSP when the TTR S3 truggy comes out...it will have the best chassis as a donar....and i feel it will be more agile than my current LSP..which=track dominance

Aren't all these the same old extended hub truggy conversion designs? If they are, I don't think they will handle as well as the LSP, with it's extended ARMS. This gives it an advantage.
I would love to see some truggies, like the LSP, from Mugen, Kyosho and TTR. What an explosive package those would be!
I'm planning the get the LSP, myself, but would jump on a non-extended hub truggy from Mugen or Kyosho.

By the way, what is "FG"? Is it a model or manufacturer? Where are you finding these pictures?
Also, when is the TTR truggy coming out? It looks fabulous. Is it a conversion or a full-blown model?
Thanks,
Ras

That can't be a production mugen it's has buggy shock towers small shock's up front/silly hub extenders the only cool thing is the extended chassis i'm shure mugen is gonna put out a way better model than that! hot bodies stadium is leading the future of truggys you better up the ante to compete.even gs racing is coming out with hot bod style arm and chassis for the sut COME ON MUGEN you go girl!

RE: New Mugen Unlimited Race Truck!
I think mugen's (and the other majors for that matter) further participation/refinement of a race oriented truggy platform will depend wholly on how large the class grows in the near future. No point in spending precious r&d and tooling bucks on something that will only move a few hundred units. Not to mention the current crop of converted X5's with dom wheels or extenders are not doing too shabby as it is.
