Default What would you like to see next from Academy / MRC?

Just as the question says, what would you like to see next for Academy MRC?

As for the 2wd buggy or truck question, I do know that there is already available options, this would be for a new version.

Why 2WD buggy, you could just take the driveshaft out of the SBV2.

How about a Quality Snowmobile? There is a lot of money up north too eh.....lol. Gotta have something to do when the fish aren't biting when we're out ice fishing.

I woudl prefer a purpose built 2wd buggy over a stripped down 4wd to 2wd.

What about those (1/6th?) Scale buggies and trucks you had back in the early/mid 90s with the dual battery and motor. A revisit now with brushless and lipo would make them shine these days where before they were underpowered (and hence the low sales). There are plenty of people and tracks for 1/8th and even more who purposely convert their 1/8th into brushless systems.

It would save you having to go back to the drawing board from scratch. You could update the platform. It really was a good idea, just a few years too early to catch on.

Otherwise, (well more really). 1/18th all the way.

Thats an interesting idea.

I think I would like to see MRC bring back some of the vehicles they had. I really liked the Ironman truck, ran quite well as a basher vehicle.

Those worlds scales were awesome too! Especially the dunebuggy.

Hey Guys,

Thanx for taking the time out to vote for what you would like to see next from MRC/ACADEMY. I would like to give it a few more weeks and let this poll continue. We have already started a new project, and from your polls... it looks like we are on the same wavelength. I personally would like to design a 1/18th scale truck in the future, (hint that, our current project is not 1/18th) there are many basher 1/18th scale vehicles and only 3 TRUE competition trucks out there. I want to make a full blown racetruck. I wanted to make it so that if you chose to run cells (NiCds,NiMH) initially, then switch over to lipos you wouldnt have to worry about the weight distribution going out of wack. (another hint) Also these little trucks are sooooo over powered there is quite a bit of torque steer that can occur, I would like to adress this as well. (hint) Well now that Ive given you all these hints, let me hear what you think of all this.

Hope to talk to you soon!

I'm still dying for a 1/10 electric 4wd stadium truck. The only reason I have the Sb Pro V2 is because I couldn't find a 4wd electric truck.

Random thoughts:
Those large vehicles you guys released back in the day were cool...
1/10 4WD stadium truck might be nice
CORR 'cause everybody else is doing it

As long as your product quality is maintained and you don't sell
56oz as a 'half gallon' [sm=punching.gif], then I think you'll do alright.

I would like to see a video on that Carson Kart. For some reason that Quicktime video doesn't want to work. Also what the length and width of it are. It looks very nice but doesn't seem to look that big from the pictures I've seen.

If this thread is still followed. I see that the 1/10 truck is in the making. Thats a maybe. A 1/18 truck or buggy I would be all over that in a second.

How about better parts support? I think this alone would boost model sales since everyone knows that if part support is weak, the model is not worth buying. Nothing worse than not being able to race because you can't get a broken part replaced. I have resorted to finding that a lot of Team Associated parts interchange. Then there is the other silly stuff like not offering a shock rebuild kit, you have to buy the complete shock set. How about a webpage that is easier to search for the exact part by model or maybe a search engine that actually works.
I think if Academy would realize they have race competitive cars but they just need to support the racers, there sales would boom.

I believe you are right; they should provide more support to the customers; at this time and in the search for shocks for GV-2
any sugestion beside the ones they offer in their site. Thanks for any help can give

RC Tech net has a great GV2 Pro thread. As far as parts support, if people run them at your track the store will carry parts. If there is no demand, well then why bother. Stormer and the mrc website are usally where I get my stuff. I see that people want the 1/18... Lets go academy

I really like my SBV2 Pro and am quite confident that if you guys built an 1/8 scale buggy it would be absolutely lethal on the track. Personally, I would prefer an electric version...it's the way to go...please don't fight it...[sm=biggrin.gif]

MRC does carry an electric 1/8th now, but it is made by ZD Racing and not by Team Academy. It's RTR with Lipo batts for like 600 bucks or something like that. Check out their site for more details.
