New 2wd buggy
well some pics of the new Academy 2wd buggy begun leaking their way onto the net....
Here are the specs from RCCA magazine's forum site. I took it straight from PeterV's post.
- Threaded shocks with bladders that can be flipped upside down for a more conventional emulsion type shock feel.
- Variable length suspension geometry front and rear
- no e-clips (captured hingepins)
- 27.5 kick-up with bellcrank matching the same angle
- vertical ball studs on the front and rear bulkheads
- rear axle will accept the ACADEMY hex rear rim, along with Team Associated b4 rear rims, Losi xxx rear rims and Proline rear rims.
- Front axle will accept the ACADEMY metric front bearing/rim, but.....there will be an addition ASE sized axle included to that Team Associated B4 front rims, and Proline B4 rims can be used as well.
- Other features cannot be discussed at this time.
Looks good fellas. I hope to see a ST version in the near future. keep pumping out the r/c's and we'll keep running them!

If your referring to the purple anodizing...YES
The Green spur gears....Yes but the gear cover is going to be black I believe so you wont be seeing the spur gear.
Is this what you mean??

Yes, thats what I was talking about.
johnyduratrax-I don't mean to be rude buy you try and design a buggy, either its gonna look like a B4 and people complain or it looks like a Losi and people complain. It has to look like something.

This buggy is going to rock, regardless of what it looks similar too...
Hopefully MRC will include spare spurs like the sbv2 pro...???
It would also be nice to see some additional option parts. Not that it will need them, but I like shiny stuff....

RE: New 2wd buggy
As mentioned above there will be 2 different front axles to accept the B4 rim, proline b4 rim, and also our TEAM ACADEMY front rim. The vast range of spur gears will be included, c'mon, you should know thats how we ROLE!
Option parts to follow, nothing major but yes there will be a few small option parts down the road.

RE: New 2wd buggy
word... alloy front knuckles, c-hubs, and rear hubs should make this buggy pretty much bomb proof.
I know there's already an aftermarket company making C.F. shock towers for the SBV2 pro, so I would assume that C.F. shock towers will be made for this buggy as well. I don't think I'll ever buy them, since I run pretty hard, and will most likely break it, but its a nice option anyways.

Academy really has been stepping up their game, It's odd they aren't more popular, I think the cars are better then many others on the market. Plus, they keep kits circulating and I LOVE that. I can't stand ready to run cars.
Davey, let me know when your ready to send me my SBV2 Carbon...
