Default Flip (flat/thin camera) or GoPro ?

I'm looking to purchase a video camera to mount on my plane. Plane is large so camera weight is not really an issue. I was considering one of the flat-type cameras (like the Flip) and was going to mount it on the side of the fuselage ..... (the video footage would be side facing in flight, not forward facing). The Flip and other cameras like this are very thin (less drag and would be fairly easy to mount).

Has anyone tried using a Flip or other flat/thin camera of this type ? Is the GoPro the better choice/option ?

Thanks. Bob
