Pictures of your Airfield
Lets see some of those airfields that we are flying from. I did not take these photos, but use them at my job. The bottom piscture is of our eastside field. It has grass runways and is considerably smaller than the west side but just as fun to fly from. I have outlined the actual grass runway in black.

RE: Pictures of your Airfield
Hello Danny.
Very interesting pictures.
You work in this? Aerophoto?
I'm in Caracas, Venezuela. And Fly R/C since 1990.
Is possible have a picture of my airfield from satelite photo?
I to send the Lat. and Lon. position?
Explain me.... please..
I have a plane "Easy Sport 60" with Videocamera on board, down link in 2.4 Ghz. But can't fly too high over my field.
Happy landing's......
Thank's

Great idea, Danny!!!
If I can do URL link correctly - this is where BlueMax RC club flying:
http://www.bluemaxrc.com/images/flying_field-02.jpg
It's about 25-30 minles NorthWest from Chicago.
I also like a suggestion from "512 CES", however as Nelson Rivero already discovered, the TerraServer does not have a good coverage of many areas outside of continental USA.

I took a number of shots about 3 years ago with a cheap little 640x480 camera from walmart. They are all at [link=http://www.stoneflyers.com/aerial_photos.htm]http://www.stoneflyers.com/aerial_photos.htm[/link]

I also took these pictures from 2700 feet above ground level, they aren't that great a quality as they are screen captures on my computer from an imported video, from a VHS tape.

Here's a picture of the club field in North Hampton, NH. Taken from my Senior Telemaster with a ratty CMOS camera I thought was a CCD!

I should have been more clear. The image is a frame of video recorded on my Sony Mini-DV camcorder, from my BlackWidowAV 100 mw tx/rx setup. I purchased the camera from Resources Unlimited, and it was supposed to be a CCD, but it is a CMOS sensor. I've got my system re-rigged with a Panasonic camera, but the Saito engine has developed a knock, and I've got to send it out for a looking over.

RE: Pictures of your Airfield
Here is our alternate flying site. It is the auxiliary parking lot of
the Gainesville Raceway here in Gainesville, FL where NHRA holds
the Gatornationals in March. The club used to fly in front of the raceway
in a big open field until the track installed light towers. This site is only
3 minutes from my house, so when I need a quick flying fix, Ill sneak
over here!
The road below the nose wheel is our strip, It took some getting used to!
As you can see there are alternate landing strips if the wind changes!
The dragstrip is in the upper right corner.

Hey that's real close to where I fly (see my post above). I'll have to drop by one of these days and check out your field. Looks REALLY nice!

I am a member of the Long Island Silent Flyers, www.lisf.org in Syosset, New York. Syosset is on Long Island, about 35 Miles east of New York City. Here is a link to a photo of our field which is approximately 800'X1800' with fly over on two sides of about 500' and two sides of about 1/2 mile.

As you will see, this is just a big open field. There are no facilities, but we manage quite well. Since we fly primarliy sailplanes we need a lot of room for hi-starts or winches to launch our planes.
This gives you the location of the field:

Here are soom photos from a recent Eastern Soaring league event held at the field.

RE: Pictures of your Airfield
This is a not the best quality photo, but a buddy (club Pres.) sent this to me of our field. One end of the East-West Runway needs some work, but it is useable.
