I use a Sony DCR-TRV230
A quick search of the net turned up some prices around $600. It is a slightly older model though and might be hard to find, and of course it is a bit above your price range.
Regards,
Bill

If you look at the bottom of the page under "Other Features" it says:
Power-Linked Operation, Night Alive, High Resolution 2.5" Amorphous Silicon LCD Color Monitor, 700X Super Digital Zoom with Spline Interpolation, Digital Picture Stabilizer, Long Time Recording Capability, Analog Input, S-video Output
You might also check into portable TV/VCR systems that either operate on 12v or can be used with a power inverter.
My DV search was just a quick look at what Circuit City had for sale so I know there will be other DV systems in your price range with analog inputs. [8D]

My Canon ZR60 was $284.00 plus shipping and it does analog input.
I love it, works great!!!
I found it by going to pricegrabber.com and getting the best price.
The Electronic Megastores want $500 for it.

Ok, I did the search for you, found $309.00 as lowest price.
I did get it over a year ago.
