Best receiver antenna

Default Best receiver antenna

From what I can tell the best receiver antenna for our use in aerial video would be a quadrifilar helix antenna. The following link has some plots showing the pattern.

It will receiver both horizontal and vertical polarized signals (like aerobatic) and from horizon to horizon and you would be able to fly overhead with little or no signal loss.

These are the type of antennas that are used in hand held GPS units.

To make one you need to know the exact frequency you are receiving on.
