Default First Aerial Vids!

Check out these first vids...

[link]http://www.fayette.net/luke/cub2.asf[/link] This one is actually our second attempt (the first went haywire) in a J3-Cub through the front windshield

[link]http://www.fayette.net/luke/glider.asf[/link] This one is taken on the nose of a glider that is being piggybacked up on the wing cradle attached to the Cub.

P.S. try not to laugh at the old guys in the pics, they are my instructors. LOL

Enjoy!

Glider video - spectacular quality! .asx file - 53 megs! There must be a more efficient format. Takes forever to download, even on my cable modem. What camera/xmitter, reciever - hardware - are you using?

asx is an ok format to use, but you should knock down the frame size. If the file size is still over 10 meg, lower the bit rate.

I will get the specifics on hardware from the pilot. He and I are trying to figure this video stuff out so it may take some time to find out the best formats for our equipment. Will post more details ASAP.

I liked the glider vid better also, it moves slower, gives the cam time to adjust and focus.[8D]

I like the glider video also. The landing was especially neat, with that last low and tight spiral before landing at his feet.

The only time I spiral when I'm that low is when my plane tip stalls [X(]

Great glider vid. I would mount the cam under the wing or fuse tilted 20 to 30 degrees so your not diving to get good footage
You can keep level and make lazy slow turns gives a chance for the viewer to enjoy more.again good work.Find a good editing program.

We are going to mount the cam in a down-facing mount in the bottom of a large J3-Cub 96". With this style mounting we are going for some good stills, and possibly another video run. Any suggestions for an editing program? [8D]

I haven't had any problems with Movie Maker, but do make sure that you have plenty of RAM. At least 256. I make them in MM and then use a freeware to compress a little and convert to an mpg. That way more people can view them.

Primodus, why don't you try converting the files into .avi or mpg ?
Im using .5mbit connection, so the size dont matter that much for me (in this case )
