Default Early mornight flight

Now this is only my second attempt at this and it was early morning so it is kinda dark. I also noticed that its kind of fuzzy I don’t know if that is the camera quality or if I don’t have it focused perfectly yet. It is a cheap-O Ebay special 200mw 1.2 ghz with the GGP antenna I attached it to my Wing Dragon using the 9v clip attachment. This is the longer version I did not have much time to edit it before I had to go to work. I will chop it down some more later and maybe add some music let me know what you think.

PS. if you actually watch it to the 3-min mark you will see when I crash in to a tree.

What are they going to do? I do not know the complete "laws" regarding the 1.2 ghz bandwidth but unless some government G-man is lurking out side my house with a scanner I don't think im likely to get in trouble. And im only pumping out 200mw max and im not in the flight path of any air ports so Im not worried. Of course if I get "BUSTED" for it I will know who squealed to the man RC12

Trust me, your unit is not putting out 200mw or anything near that. Apparently the power listing is what those units DRAW in milliwatts, not the actual RF out. So, yes they are illegal but I wouldnt sweat the Black Helicopters landing in your field to cart you off to Guantanimo Bay or anything. Unless you are doing something else I dont want to know about![:-]
I still screw around with my "800mw" units from time to time.

fubar,

I agree I would guess the actual mw out put to be close to around 50mw and that may even be high. But I was just listing what the manufacturer has for the specs. Also I have heard several people talk about the law that governs the 1 to 1.2 GHz bandwidth but I have never hard of any one getting prosecuted for it, or fined.

you guys are right on. in the instructions for my cam it says the power is 50mw and draws 200 or something. im not worried about the numbers, as long as it works.

I thought the video was great for an inexpensive camera. More light will likely help with the quality. The difference with video from my cheap Aiptek camera from low light to full light is..... well day and night.

I made it to about the 2 minute mark. Will watch it again. Looks like you are getting pretty good results with the GPP antenna once you get some altitude. You will notice a better picture when you fly in better light but you will probably, if you havent already, need to make some kind of hood to prevent glare.
Keep up the good work!

I made a new video the other morning, there is more light on this one and I added some music. I also cut out most of the drop outs but there are still a few. The signal really gets degraded whenever I get near the metal fence

Good video!
Uh, is the picture sharp before rendering for uploading? You might need to check the focus on your camera. Seemed kinda fuzzy to me but its hard to tell with a streaming video.
Keep em coming!

Headin back out to the garage to finish building WingoCam II...

I do believe that I need to focus the camera better the quality is 98% of the original source video. Im looking at upgrading to a CCD Board camera but that may be a few weeks off still.
