What kind of High Gain antenna are you looking for and what is your price range? here is a link to a couple High Gain antennas (sp)? [link=http://www.vfmstore.com/high-gain-antenna.htm#ant1206]here[/link] and [link=http://www.sonerik.com/antennas.asp]Here[/link] Also your probably not at 1.2Ghz it more likely between .9 and 1.16 Ghz.

let me check when I get home I may have the leftovers from the one I made and would be willing to build you one for free. Although you would have to cover the shipping cost. From 97123 should not be more then a couple of bucks. But I have to make sure I have enough sheet metal left over.

Awesome!
All I would need is antenna itself, not the pvc holding pipes..

Is it 1.2 ghz?

It would be based on the GPP only with the dimensions for 1.2 ghz, the only deviation I have used is that I use a common F-Connector instead of the SMA connector. Only because I had them laying around, If you want one with a SMA connector I would build it but would be like $5 for the connector and it would take a while to get the part. Here is an exert from the FAQ on the GPP:

Q: Do I really need to use the SMA connector shown on the plans? Can I use a common TV F-connector? Or, can I solder directly to the antenna with coax or other wire?
A: I highly recommend you use a microwave rated connector like the plans call out. Everything else invites RF loss and will reduce antenna performance.

Now that being said I have use my GPP with the F-Connector and I get over 1000+ feet range with less dropouts then the stock whip antenna. look at it this way if you don't like it or not satisfied with it all your out is the shipping cost.

It's alright, just put a normal antenna connector that you could plug into the TV...

How much is shipping? Where to send money?

looks like usps is the best way to ship here are the rates I got from the estimated weight and size of the package:

UPS $7.35 5days
Fedex $5.66 5days
USPS $3.85 3days

now these are just estimated but I believe USPS would be the best choice. If you have a paypal account that would be the easiest if not we can work something out. I have tomorrow off so I will build it tomorrow and probably get it sent off then too. I will let you know what the shipping cost comes out to.

PM me or E-mail me with your address

Yeah I shipped it off yesterday 6-9-04 they said about 3 day can't wait to see your videos. Hope it works good for you, I tested it on my setup and it worked better then the one is use now...... So needless to say I will be building my 4th one tonight because they get better with each one I build. One of these days I will brake down and get the SMA connectors.

SNoWjackel,

Would it be possible for you to supply details of the size of the antenna. I have seen the plans for the goof proof patch, but it was for 2.4 and I have a cheap 1.2 set-up. Or do I just double all the sizes.

Cheers
Pat

Patpending you are correct I just doubled all the sizes, check out the FAQ at http://www.rc-cam.com/gp_patch.htm it has all the info on building at 1.2ghz patch. It is near the bottom of the page. If you still have questions I would be happy to help you in any way I can.
