Rain rain go away!
Had a lot of rain here in Southern California lately which played hell on some of the local canyons and hillsides.
Unfortunately, the club that I belong to, Porta-Pottie-Pilots, sponsored by Robin's Hobbies is in one of these canyons.
I have included some of the pictures I took of the field last weekend.
Sorta off topic but also on topic I feel.
For scale, the first picture showing the entrance to the pits. The belly of the plane WAS about 8' high. That is a 5' fence.
The shelters are now about 4' high on the runway side.
The picture with the skip loader in the hole shows where they found the parking lot about 3' down.
There were a lot of trees at the end of the runway to the right of the pictures. If you didnt get properly airborne, you ran the risk of whacking the tips of the trees.
The one shining thing about the damage is that those trees are now gone.
The wind generally comes from the south so blows right to left.
Mean carrier landings to avoid the highway berm!
This will explain why I fly from that crappy dirt field in all my videos...

RE: Rain rain go away!
Looking at picture 3, I see there is a moral to this story: Always build your flying field on the high ground. Those houses look untouched.

Unfortunately, because of those houses taking the high ground where the field USED to be, we now are stuck with the low ground.
Typical story for RC enthusiasts in So Cal. Its either houses or golf courses that move us out.
