Sky Surfer DV 5000 1st Video
Hi all.
I finally was able to get the Mustek DV 5000 attached to my sky surfer and lift it.
Setup:
Skry Surfer
7,4 V 1800 Mah Lipo
Mustek DV 5000
Have a look some parts of the 12 min flight:

Nice video! I also enjoy using my sky surfer to make videos. My main issue has always been camera weight, I have tried many types and I finally ordered a lipo battery. I noticed you were using one with your setup. I hope the reduced weight will make a difference in getting my sky surfer airborn more easily. I have some neighbors who just installed 12-15 ft tall trees right in my takeoff area so I need a little extra to get over them. I will try tomorrow to get a new video or two.
Again, great video!

Txs Jamie.
I've seen and enjoyed your vids m8.
Its great you can start from your own garden.
Here in Holland its a bit crowded.
The max weight you can add to a standard Sky Surfer seems to be around 80 grams.
That is with a heavy battery of about 170 grams.
Lipos vary in weight and capacity.
I have 2 types now:
-7,4 V 1800 Mah about 88 grams
-7,4 V 1100 Mah about 59 grams
I also fly with a battsignal device to watch over the lipo before and during flight.
Its fun to try things out as you might well know.
Fact is because of the off center of gravity I had to lower the rear lines one notch to get airborne properly.
There was no wind at all so that has some lift influence as well.
Good luck and I am waiting for your next one.
Cheers,
Huub

Nice video! [sm=thumbup.gif]
Who did you buy the Mustek DV500 from?
It seems that Mustek is not selling DV5000 in U.S.
Mustek is only selling DV4000 or DV5500 here.
DV5500 has CCD camera. DV4000 has only 3meg pixel with CMOS camera. Your DV5000 has 4meg pixel right?
I would like to see more video. Next time more scenic pictures please, so I feel like taking vacation in your beautiful country.
Thanks for sharing.

RE: Sky Surfer DV 5000 1st Video
Txs IC Crash2,
I bought the DV5000 2nd hand out of Austria. Barely used but with some scratches (not on the lens [8D]).
In Europe the DV 5000 type is available.
Technical Data:
Image Sensor 3.1 M CMOS Sensor ,Color Mode 24 bit
Resolution 2336 x 1732 (Hardware interpolated), 2048 x 1536, 1024 x 768 (for images)
Memory 32 MB (expandable via SD/MMC Card)
Interface USB , Audio out / Video out / Earphone
Dimensions 86 x 68 x 41 mm (L x W x H)
Weight 127 g (without Batteries)
I made the video with a setting of 640x480.
Not planned at that time as the frame rate is lower (10-15 fps).
Next shots will be 320x240 with 30 fps.
The image quality is not great but its the best low price and weight possibility for the sky surfer.
I get 5V from the reciever (BEC) and turn the Camera on to record. Display is then turned off to save power.
After that => ready to take off and crash.....
Next flights will be at other spots so yes stick around and get to see a bit of Holland
Trips near the sea and in the future "woods" are planned as well.
I will keep em coming but I need calm, nice weather. (its a sort of winter now here, not severe but still)
l8rs!
Regards,
Huub
