You will need to convert em to a different format. I am guessing these are currently mpeg or AVI? My 8+ minute videos rarely are larger than 25megs in wmv format.

I dont know if Windows Movie Maker will convert them or not. I dont have any links to free software, unfortunately. I use Pinnacle Systems Studio 9 for my videos but it comes with an $80 or so price tag. More depending on which plugin goodies you add.

I am partial to Pinnacle Systems Studio 9. Easy to learn. Works great. You can add music and sound files whether you want to rip it from a CD, MP3, wav, etc. Add still images. Slow mo. Other features I can mention might actually be part of the optional plug ins but the features I did mention are part of the standard package.
It comes with some titles and a title editor, transitions, stuff like that.
[link=http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage_n.asp?Product_ID=2446&Langue_ID=7]Studio 9[/link] costs about $100. You can get an input/output card with it for a bit more that has stereo inputs/outputs, S-video, analog RCA type, and firewire.
I have one of these but have only used the firewire connection so far with my Sony digital 8 camcorder.
You also have the options to burn your videos to many formats including DVD or back to the camcorder thru the firewire if you wish.
