Default Carry weight of a Nexstar for camera.

Done a search here but did get a match, I am wondering how to figure the usable payload of my Nexstar to mount video camera on top of wing.

It should have more than enough capacity for one of those new Aiptek 5900 digital video cameras that they carry at Walmart. Nice thing is it also doubles as a still camera. They only weigh 5 oz.
That Nexstar should handle an extra lb with ease. I have a Frontier 40 trainer with a Magnum 40 and it weighs 9 lb.
It not only has a camera, but a video transmitter as well for my downlink.

Is the video downlink for the camera that is mounted in your picture? Is this to monitor you camera image before snapping still pictures?
How is you downlink set up and what equipment did you use?

Thanks for the info,
Phil

The downlink is to see what the onboard digital camera is seeing. Both of my digitals have a video jack and it runs through a 2.4 ghz transmitter. I can either view the images through a television set or with a helmet mounted receiver and monitor I have. If you'll look at some of the threads I have started, you will see some of it.
The best setup or the easiest to set up is the 5 volt Black Widow package. My video equipment is an ebay cheapie but I want to upgrade to the black widow to do away with a 12 volt battery pack I have to use to power mine.
