combining ideas for ultimate combat
Ok here's what I'm thinking. I've seen those videos of aircraft chasing other aircraft and I have seen the web sites with headset moniters and i know a company used to sell those park flyers with the "laser tag" devise that would shut down the opponent's moter when hit. Well I fly 1/4 scale WW1 and and I'm wondering if you could have a wireless system with a head set moniter and have some kind of lasar system that sets off smoke in your opponent when you hit him x amount of times. Any sugestions?

RE: combining ideas for ultimate combat
the reason I posted on this site is because the wireless video is the key to keeping it safe. My idea is really not as much competative combat as it is a scale combat demonstration. I think it would really be neet to have two large scale planes dogfighting in a scale manner using scale speeds and scale manuvers. The few times I've tried it at my club the other guy would get spooked because he was afraid of a collision. having a cockpit view as well as a ground view would help you keep your prospective. Most of us fly more than 1 scale and when you get these big birds up you have a hard time with depth perception in relation to ground objects as well as other aircraft. There is a web site where they offer a head set monitor which frees up one eye for the plane. what I'm lookig for is suggetions for the most practical equipment for this application For example the wireless tranmitter does not necessarilly have to have the best picture unless you want to record it. It only has to get you a view of your opponent so you can line him up for a shot. The real problem would seem to be how to record hits. If it was only for a demonsrtation you could coreograph it so that it would be predetermined who gets shot down, but from a competative pespective you would need to have each aircraft equiped with sensors which would either keep track of the number of hits or have multiple sensors were a shot to the pilot, engine or fuel tank was fatal.
