Default zoom control on aerial video

I'm building a aerial photography system with a Sony mini-DV camcorder. The sony has the ability to control zoom and on/off through a lanc connection, but I don't know of any wireless controllers. Does anyone know how I can zoom my camera and turn it on and off while it is up in the air?

Thanks,
Dino

Hope your camcorders on the list, if it has LANC, it SHOULD work!
Thats about the only one I know of available commercially, the other options include building one.

Varizoom & Zoe Lanc Controllers

A company called Varizoom makes a very small Lanc controller called the Stealth. Another company called Bebob makes the Zoe Lanc controller. I guess they could be servoe controlled.

I would reccomend using a micro servo affixed to a mount and controlled off an unused RX channel. The remotes that come with the camera are of no use. The same application could be used for focus and record on/off depending on how you camera controls are set up.

A servo controlled with a 3 way switch works well for me. End points set for just the right amount of travel to activate the zoom. (Video camera)
