Well Dragon Link TX and RX has been mentioned a few times over the year and it's almost ready. It is extremely simple to use, utilize 433mhz to 435mhz-narrow band frequency, does channel hopping, will suit most radios, comes with 9 channels but can be easily modified for more, easy to use fail safe programming and much more.

Daniel Wee tested this on the ground with his version 1 beta and got 5Km but ran out of road to test it further.

Do you have more information on this system?...price, where to get it from, when will it be available for the market, if indeed that is your intention, etc.

I recently studied and acquired my amateur radio license to allow me to use my 200Mw and 1 watt 2.4gig transmitters legally. The 70cm band where your ATV (Amateur Television) frequencies, referred to in this thread, reside are tightly controlled by the FCC. Anyone purchasing a video transmitter should make absolutely sure that they are not violating federal law? Just a suggestion.

This unit is for controlling our planes/vehicles at long - long range as you can watch on the video. Beta testing will start probably next week and if all goes well, it will go into full production. I just received news that one of our beta tester did a 6 mile FPV trip with Dragon Link. He already put 40 hours into Dragon Link and had no glitches at all. So I know he didn't even push the limits of Dragon Link yet but this is a start; I'll post a video here as soon as he uploads it to Youtube or Vimeo.

FWIW: He used Daniel Wee's Dragon OSD with GPS and autopilot to prove the distance of this flight.

I just ordered a Dragon Link Yesterday. They tuck my money. I hope I get somithing for it.

Got the Dragon Link today. Got to do some bench testing, and then installed in plane. Did more testing with all kinds of electrical noise present. I tried every thing I could think of to get this thing to mess up. It is rock solid. Could not get a receiver lock up no matter what I tried. Range check was twice as far as Chain Link Dare. Plane was inside my garage with door closed. Transmitter was inside my pickup truck laying in seat beside me. Finaly started getting drop outs at one mile. droped out completely at 1.5 mile. Stoped truck and got out with transmitter. It reconected instantly. CLD droped out at just under 1/2 mile. It would not reconect all the way back to shop. Receiver locked out, Fail safe did not engauge. This test repeated itself 5 times. The CLD receiver locked out after going into fail safe while I had transmitter in shop with airplane 6 times. System was un flyiable. The replacement was no better. CLD is in my storage locker, and most likely stay there.
No, I am not a sales person for Dragon Link. Just a FPV pilot. Some one else might get diferent results I don`t know.

DL PCB changed big time therefore it is not the same as it was a few weeks ago. Certainly not the same when I was assembling them back in 2009. Mike, Daniel and my EE friends did a whole make over both hardware and software wise. It's normal really for any product to mature over time... we have been doing for a while now. DL project really started back in 2007 FWIW.
