Default New FPV camera + transmitter

Hobbyking launched a new cam and transmitter for fpv today. Unfortunately no receiver, but the product description says that it can be used with most generic 2.4GHz video receivers. Here is the product listing: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=11964

Can you use a 2.4 camara system with a 2.4 Rx/Tx system?

No, in most cases it won't work very well. Fortunately, there are other frequencies. Hobbyking added a few new camera systems today:

Camera/VTX/RX - 1.2 GHz 100mW: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...ch_CCD_Camera_
Camera/VTX/RX - 1.2 GHz 200mW: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...ch_CCD_Camera_

and another 2.4GHz complete system: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...ch_CCD_Camera_

I have not converted my Tx to 2.4 as of yet so using 2.4 ghz for fpv transmission is viable for me. Does anyone have any posted videos using this equipment?

Also, what goggles should be used with these cameras? I did not see where HK sells them. What else is needed to complete an FPV setup?

There are rumors that HK will come out with goggles soon (within 3 weeks?)

Also, it seems that the video online from many of the FPV systems is blocky and distorted. Is thee a reason for this? Are these just cheap systems or is there an bandwidth bottleneck at some point causing this lack of fidelity? It seems that to really fly FPV, you need to have a good frame rate as well as a screen that repaints it self in full each frame. Is ccd preferable to cmos? What range of resolution should I look for? Any minimums? Do I need antenna tracking to go any significant distance?

Thx

blocked and distored video has most of time various reasons, among them are:
1. Link quality between transmitter and receiver is not too good or the transmitter is at the edge where the receiver can pick up the signal
2. Losses due to conversion from (already bad?) signal to digital signal that can be shown on web through youtube or vimeo (file size)

I think a 200-500mW transmitter is a good start. Also investment on a good receiver antenna (2.4GHz patch) is important and helps getting a better signal than the standard whip or rubber duck antenna most systems come with.

For normal use, do you really need an antenna tracker?

Since this is my first crack at FPV, I want to look at starting with a kit that is mostly constructed of parts that are certified to work together. Here are the two systems that I am looking at:
http://www.dpcav.com/xcart/product.p...cat=263&page=1
http://hobbywireless.com/cart/index....roducts_id=253

Does anyone have an opinion of these kits as a starting point? Are they over kill or insufficient?

Thanks in advance.
