AW 50cc Yak 55M
Its been a good day!
On a personal note I was able to pick up a new AW 30cc Edge 540 from a not quite local hobby shop today.
Then I got home to inspect my new plane and logged onto Facebook only to find this new baby!
The brand new AeroWorks 50cc Yak 55M its going to fit nicely right along side my AW 50cc Extra 260.
I,m really excited to get there and see it in person along with the military version of the Cessna 195.
I'll take plenty of pics tomorrow and will post them here.

The 50cc Yak still has a little way to go before we are ready for production but if you want to get on the pre order list give us a call tomorrow. Jeff or Vince will be able to get you on the pre order list and we will call you when they come in, as usual no deposit will be required.

No, just one on display at the booth. Same top quality look and feel. Their target date back then was September, was hoping to have a fall build project. But it never happened. So I called and they said it would be at least a few more months, Now I see March on the web site.

Yeah March is the projected time frame for delivery, which will work out well.
My daughter picked the red one for me, so thats the way I,m going to go.
I wonder why the base of the canopy is white though?
I gotta think that a continuous red or blue from the cowl all the way along the top of the turtle deck wouldn't be better.
Here is a pick of the red one.

I like the Red YAK 55 as well. In my opinion it has the best color scheme I have seen for a YAK 55. I hope it turns out to be lighter than the other 50CC Aeroworks planes.

RE: AW 50cc Yak 55M
Yeah I agree its the nicest colour scheme out there for this aircraft.
As for the weight thing, they are built pretty robustly but they always seem to fly really nicely.
On another site the AW rep quotes the AUW with a DLE55 at 17.25lbs, so assuming thats with a DLE muffler, a total weight of 18lbs stock is possible.
Then taking into account so measures taken to lighten things up, carbon etc. 17.25 lbs would be nice with a DA60 cannister setup.
Going to call them tomorrow to make sure that I,m down on the list for a red one.

Hello guys,
I have the red leading edge Yak 55 M and have been flying for the past month. Its a great plane and flies very precise. Here is a link to the build thread in you are interested.

If you are thinking about getting the Yak55 stop thinking and get off your duff and do it NOW. As with all Aero-Works products
you can't get any better. It flies as if on rails. A slight tuck to the gear on knife edge flight. Required 2 clicks of elevator mix for
rock solid flight. Hopefully will finish flight testing/setup this weekend. When done it will be fun, fun, fun,. Have fun and be safe.
