Default Aeroworks Out of Business / Status of this Vendor Forum

As many of Aeroworks long and loyal customers may already know (or many many not know yet), Aeroworks has closed the doors of their business for good effective October 28th, 2016. A visit to the Aeroworks website, www.aero-works.net, will display the following message;

AEROWORKS CLOSING!

It has been over 25 years that Aeroworks has been involved in the RC airplane industry. Aeroworks takes great pride in all that we have accomplished through our designs, event sponsorships, RC pilot sponsorships, dealer relationships and most importantly all the RC pilots we have come to know around the world. The time has come for Aeroworks to say goodbye as we move on to new endeavors. Aeroworks will be closing effective October 28, 2016. We sincerely want to thank everyone that has supported Aeroworks throughout the years and we will treasure the time we have shared with all of you.

Sincerely, Rocco and Sandy - Aeroworks

Unfortunately this message leaves little information about what anybody can do may have recently purchased an Aeroworks product that might have tech support issues with that product. This vendor support forum here on RCU has always been an avenue that was paid for by Aeroworks and was placed here on RCU for Aeroworks to be able to communicate and support their customers in a timely and efficient manner. Now of course with Aeroworks out of business they won't be around to "pay" for this vendor support forum to stay on RCU. However, we here at RCU discussed this issue over and we feel that our members are more important than a few advertising dollars. We realize that there is a lot of archived information in this vendor forum that can be of great use to RCU members who still own and fly Aeroworks products, therefore we plan on leaving this vendor forum in place as a research material for you to use so that you can find answers to problems you may have. However, since this was a "vendor" forum provided by Aeroworks for support of their product for their customers we are going to lock the threads down. We feel that this is the best course of action as we don't want the existing threads to become trashed and diluted with information that may not be correct as other users post in them, and by locking the threads we can prevent this from happening.

We will monitor the traffic in this forum and at some point in the future we find that the traffic here in this forum drops to a level that it is no longer reasonable for us to keep it open we will reexamine the issue and make another decision then.

And on a personal note I want to say that I am deeply saddened by this news. I have owned quite a few Aeroworks planes in the past, and I currently have 5 of them that are either in my current hanger or in a box ready to be put together and added to my hanger. I have always like the quality of Aeroworks planes and loved flying them. I will definitely be sad to see them go.

Ken
