trailer or no trailer for 260QB..
Plane is still in box un-opened but it'll all be done pretty soon as it's namely the QB.
think i'll have to change my car if i choose to do away with trailer.... and
a friend of mine made a pretty nice offer for his Ford Explorer 2004.
so, anybody with above combo?
can it be fit in the car with Elevator attached or detatched?
tks

I have an Expedition and a QQ 102" Yak and the landing gear have to darn near butt up against the backs of the front seat and I have to share the front cab area with the cowling and prop. All this is required just to get the back door closed without smashing the rudder.
With an Explorer, you would likely have to removed the stabs and share the empenage with you up front. If you don't mind removing stabs all the time, I'm sure you can make it work.

I have a Tahoe and my 50cc size airplanes fit with the spinner just between the backs of the two front seats. This allows about six inches of clearance between the rudder and the tailgate, which I fill with a block of foam rubber. I might have the same approximate fit that Bodywerks just described if I tried a 100cc airplane but I haven't done so yet. I think it will be tough to get it in an Explorer.

RE: trailer or no trailer for 260QB..
a friend of mine is going to bring his to my house on this weekend.
maybe i can put the cowl and rudder on and test fit it.
if the assistant's seat can be flatened to rearward, maybe it can be fit inside.
fortuanately, elevator servos are hooked up on h/stab not on the side of fuse...
so i might be able to get the h/stab attached and detatched easily without having to disassemble the linkage.

A guy I know was able to put a 3.0 extra in his 2002 explorer....had to take the stabs and spinner off......and a very tight fit....rudder on the dash....
easily possible as long as you take the stabs off.....tail between the front seats...

If I can fit a 35% Carden, a .40 glow, and a foamy along with all my support gear into a 2005 Mazda Protege, then you guys should have no problem fitting an AW 260 in an Expedition or Tahoe!
