RE: New 35cc Extra 300 QB!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Mark.... hope you weren't offended by the fun
Sounds like a winner.... I wish it would have come in a little lower in price.... put shipping on top of that and you have $550 in an airframe size we are used to paying $400 for. I do realize there is more completed on this airframe.
At $450 shipped I would jump on it.... at $550 I will have to give it some thought. Also curious to see what Extreme Flight comes up with.
Thanks again Mark.... I appreciate the information.

RE: New 35cc Extra 300 QB!!!!!!!!!
Hi Mark
would you know if there is an aeroworks agent in South Africa?
I would really like to get an extra, but it would be difficult importing one from you without damage to the plane and without having parts go missing while being shipped.
Please help
Marc (M64) ....same name just spelled differently lol

Marc,
Send an email to [email protected] addressed to chuck. He handles all of our international shipping and would be very happy to give you a hand.

My long awaited AW 35cc Extra 300 arrived today. It will be powered by a Brillelli 46GT with a pitts muffler. Hitec 5955TG servo on the rudder, 5245MG on the throttle and 5985MG's everywhere else. A123 batteries on the ignition and receiver. Can't wait to start building.[sm=wink_smile.gif]

I received mine today as well. Absolutely stunning! Will post a few pics along the way. Moki 2.10 w/ Pitts Muffler and the New Futaba BL-351 Servos w/ A-123 Batts.

Perry,
I'm anxiously waiting for your progress report and photos! I am thinking about one for a Moki 210 as well. Will the head fit completely inside the cowl with the Moki on it's side and a pitts muffler?

Why is the Brillelli 46 so popular with this airplane and the DA-50 overkill?
There is no significant weight or displacement difference.

I need to shorten the motor box by 3/4" for a Fuji 43 that I have. What's the recommended procedure? Chop the front off an rebuild with new 3/8 ply or chop the center of the box and rejoin leaving the firewall alone?

get a shorter motor? [8D]
(just kidding of course!!!) I've just ordered my 300 in the official 1969 Ford GT40 color scheme, so it's not arrived quite yet, hence, have not looked closely at the firewall. I'd likely replace the firewall and pin it. But that depends on how the engine box is constructed and what is the best combination of easy/robust.

RE: New 35cc Extra 300 QB!!!!!!!!!
To shorten the motor box I cut around the 4 sides with a razor saw 3/4" back which is just beyond the triangular stock glued to the back of the firewall and to the sides/top/bottom. I then trimmed the previously attached edges from the firewall and refitted it to the newly shorter box. Looks good, I'll re-pin it with dowels and possibly make the removable panel on top permanent to give some more support to the top panel attached to the firewall since it only has about 1/4" from the panel opening to th firewall to attach to. Don't think there is any reason to have the top panel removable. Anyway things are progressing...

Mine arrived as well as a platform for my Brison 2.4. Nicely done ARF, well packed. 2 small punctures courtesy of UPS didn't pierce anything on the plane. I probably won't start this build for several weeks.

RE: New 35cc Extra 300 QB!!!!!!!!!
I flew mine for the first time this weekend and I'm pleased to say that it was a great couple of test flights!! No serious tumbling yet but I pulled a couple of flat spins and lomchevaks. Mine required no trim at all for straight and level flight. I've installed a Moki 2.1 in the plane which does require a cut out for the head but I really like the Moki and as I had two looking for a home, went ahead despite having to cut the cowl. My only disappoint with the kit was that that the large Aeroworks decals weren't included with the kit. I sent two emails to Aeroworks but haven't heard anything from them which is funny as I heard from them within a business day when querying about potential ship dates. I really wanted the decals before flying.

BF

I flew mine last night and it was great! Trims were great out of the box and noneof the big parts fell off. A good beginning. Plenty of power with a Fuji-43. Nice little plane.

Great to hear. I placed and order for mine, and am sitting impatiently waiting.
I know they're in the process of moving, but hopefully it won't take too long. []
