Also I see in the manual you guys installed a saito 82. How did it perform?

Curious on the Saito .82 here as well.
The .82 is one of the motors we installed in the manual, it works very well on the 60/90 Extra 260 and provides great sport performance.

Also, these are in stock and shipping, Rocco and I went through one of these today and we were both very impressed with how this little plane turned out. If you havent told Santa what you want for Christmas this would definatley be on the top of my list!

Hello Mark, I am interested in the extra 260 50cc, but have a question. You recommend a 180 lb rated servo on all surfaces. Can I be safe in the 160 range for sport flying; I don't am not interested in 3d flying. I am also interested in the 35cc extra 300 and would like to know the best target weight for the engine. I spoke to Chuck yesterday and he suggested I pass engine size question by you. He also cautioned about servos with less than the recommended torque. Thanks in advance. I have an Aeroworks 61 size edge and love the quality and performance, and I am looking to move up.

Hi Mark,
I see that these are now in stock so I'm ordering the Extra 260 .60-.90 size QB today and have a YS 110-S laying around to put on it. Will the width of it fit inside the cowl if I invert it? I understand if inverted the bottom will a touch. I plan to fly IMAC and sport flying.
Thanks,
Frank

Frank,

The motor will pass through the bottom of the cowl if mounted fully inverted. The manual shows the engine being mounted at an inverted 45*, this keeps as much of the engine inside of the cowl and will keep the muffler in the center of the plane.

Thanks. Is the engine mount strong enough for the YS 110 or should I upgrade?

Hi Mark,
It mas mentioned earlier about how saito's new FG 20cc gas engine would work in this plane. That's what I would like to put in.

Thanks Mark

The FG 20 will be heavy compared to the .60-1.15 glow motors that we recomend. If you are looking to get good 3D performance I would stick with the glow engine, if you want a good sport plane then the FG-20 will work.

Just received mine and there is nothing prehinged, or pre-mounted. Your email says different. I have received planes that were completely prehinged(Glued). Did I get a lemon?

What!!! Pre-hinged and pre-mouted are major parts of AW's QB series. Definitely sounds like a mistake. Call them and they will take care of you.

Hi Pascal, the problem is Aero-Nut's and not mine.

Plane looks great.. Covering is tight, all parts look good. It's just when they say ailerons, elevators are pre-hinged I expect them to be especially when the price is so much more than the Edge.

You guys are so spoiled. I read somewhere that the hinges would not be glued and the gear not mounted. I think it was on there web site. I would rather glue my own ca hinges any way.

Yeah, aren't we all a little spoiled. I travel quite a bit so my time is limited so QB is about the only way for me these days but that's not the point. The point is I would have bought the Edge for $170 vs the Extra @ $275...it's the same wing span as the Edge for crying out load and $105 more....!!! That's a large difference for about the same bird in anybody's book.

Oh well......Everyone have a great Christmas.

Hi Aero-nut !

If you have a chance to weight your plane before you put your motor on... i will really appreciate !!! I want make a electric conversion and that could help me a lot if i could know the weight "raw". So i could figure my total weight with my motor and batterie.
Thank you and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!
