Any thoughts on using the DLE-55 in the new edge?? I am wanting good pull out of hover. I am wanting to try to keep it light also. Looking at maybe Getting carbon landing gear and wing tubes also. But it is really a hard choice though??? I am a huge Edge fan!!! But all the other new 50cc planes aero works has now are awesome!!!! Thanks for any help!!!!

i think you need to wait some poeple to make maiden with the Edge, i was  on the way to order one but i couldnt wait more time to get a gasser, so i got the Extra 300. I have the DLE55 and i can tell it really can go out of hover very easy.

Yea, I really like that edge! I guess I can wait for it..I need to sell some stuff first anyway!!! Just dont tell my wife!!!!!

lol, np, i have the Edge 540 46-60 and i love it....the other problem with the new 50cc edge is that my rav4 was not big enough for it lol. Well my setup is:

- DLE55 with Xoar 22x8 for brake in and Hawk 22x10 now.
- MPI 3.5" spinner
- Fromeco 2600 mah for ignition with Smart fly Ingition Regulator
- Fromeco 5200 mah for RX with Sahara Regulator
- Hitec 7985 for throttle
- Hitec 7955 for Ailerons, Elevators and Rudder
- SWB servo arms for surface 1.5", and just 3" for the rudder
- HD extension and switch
- Futaba 617 rx
- Futaba 7C radio

The 300 feels amazing with this setup, maybe the servos are a overkill but is better to get a great servos on this investment for future airplanes, TBM has exellent prices so i order almost all my electronics from them.

The 55 will give you great power with most if not all the 50cc class airplanes on the market.

Thanks for the great info!! I think i will try to pick up a DLE-55 first, and then figure out what palne to stick it in... To many choices, I still like the aeroworks edge and the new extra 300 is a really close 2nd!!! thanks!!!

I think you would be happy with either. The Edges are very cool with the racing schemes.

That would be nice!!!! Right now I do not have a way to transport the 50cc size plane. I got a trailer hitch for my car and light 12ft trailer. Now I am drawing up some ideas to close it in. My plans are to try to keep the trailer light and design it to have a low profile. And have it set up to hold atleast one 100cc size and a few other small planes. Now I am just trying to figure out what to use for the sides and roof????

Thanks fpr the info!!! I have looked at those planes also! I will have to go check it out again. And I was in the military from 99 - 05 I was a crew chief on the E-3 (AWACS). It was a 707 airframe the one with the big round radar on top of it! Wish I would have stayed in now.................

The DLE55 should be a great motor in the Edge. From I have seen, the 55 has seems to have more power than the DL50.
I have a DL50 and it runs great. I just completed a Extra 300 LP for a friend with a DLE55 and it started on the 4 flip, amazing!
My DL50 did not.

Can't wait to see some pictures.

If you install a tach, you would use that wire.
