RE: 46 and 60 Extra 260 Freestyle! VIDEO ADDED!!
Dont know why anybody would buy a .75ax . The motor is a joke . Look at the specs on it and compare it to the .91fx . The .75ax weights quite a bit more and puts out less ponnies . The muffler is a tank alone but how the motor runs was designed around this heavy item . Cant figure out what OS was ever thinking on that motor . I have an aeroworks Edge 540t and it was a dog on verticles and pullouts with the .75ax compared to the Saito115 that is on there now . All the Bro's are running .55ax's , Saito 72's and Saito82's on 4-4.5lbs profiles . Looking at the weight on the 40-60 size aeroworks profile I would suggest nothing less than a Saito 100 . Its too heavy to be considered a .40 size bird just like the Edge504t .
That DLE20 looks SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

I tried to convince one of the guys at the field to go with the 95AX and not the 75AX, but it as they say 'you can lead a donkey to the well but you can't make him drink the water'. The 95AX is good choice and soon we'll have the DLE 20cc which I think will be a great choice for the 60-90 size bird

The price of the 95AX and 1.20AX is $279.99???? I saw this months ago and thought they would have changed it.

Now they have the ProX260 .46-.60 for 199.95? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXZTN8&P=7
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks

If you look at the specs you see there both the same weight . Then that means the .75 is obsolete . Buy the .95ax . Or save 7oz. by getting a Saito 100 . It used to be a 2oz difference between .91fx and the saito100 . Now with the huge powerbox on the ax it adds 7oz .

Gotta admit, when I found out how much it weighed I was kinda sorry i bought the 75AX. But I have to admit mine runs (finally) really well and is pretty strong, especially with the baffle out. But straight up, its not as strong as my .91fx and weighs the same....
I'm also interested in the Large size AW profile with the DLE 20. I'll be watching that one closely.

We are also looking into putting a 20cc DLE gas engine on one soon and this will give the plane tremendous power to weight around 2 to 1. (7 pound plane with 13.5 pounds of thrust)
We hope to have a 20cc on it soon
Thank You

Couple of questions though;
(1) Jody states a distance of 5 11/16" from firewall -to- thrust washer clearance. How does that relate to mounting the DLE-20 on this profile?
(2) Will some cutting be required to get it mounted?
(3) Where will the ign module get mounted? Outside of fuse, under wing???

Exactly my plan as I have one of each on pre-order.

Jim,
We will be mounting the DLE 20 very soon, the plan right now is to make a conversion package that will allow the customer to easily mount the 20. As soon as we get the motor mounted and have a better understanding of exactly what is required we will post all the info here.

Both airplanes will be available around late June

Anything you can say to be a bit more specific?
It'd be nice to have the .60 -.90 PROX260 ARF- QB before the DLE20cc, but I feel the engine will beat the model.

The profiles are expected in Denver Sept 7th. If all goes with no additional hold ups we will have them In Stock ready to ship around the 13th.
We apologize for the delay.
Thank You

We will be test fitting the profile with one of the DLE20cc. We have one coming next week. If the testing and fitting goes well we will have an addendum for fitting the engine to the profile. Performance should be AWSOMWE!

Even so, Jody attached the ign module onto the L-G. NOT a great place to put such.
We're discussing the AW .60 -.90 PROX260 ARF- QB with a DLE20cc on it.

Look at the following image.....
[link=http://www.aero-works.net/store/images/upload/plane_large/60profile_large30.jpg].60 -.90 PROX260 ARF- QB (eng mount)....[/link]
......then substitute THAT eng with the DLE20cc with rear carb sticking out nearly 2" behind the rear plate.
It looks like the fuse has to get notched out near to where the throttle servo label is!
Eng can be mounted slightly forward, but not much or C.G. gets screwed.
Now you see why I'm anxious to see how the AW crew mounts theirs!

I'm pretty sure that is a 46-60 model with an OS 55AX pictured. The yellow plane is the 60-90 on the aeroworks site.

I know it will get done, I'm just concerned about the issues I've stated.

It comes in two color schemes.
At least you got the eng right!

Well I've ordered the blue 46-60 size and I already have a OS55AX I'm going to try running on the stock muffler. I think she will fly great. AC has a lot of wing area, 50 squares more than the Mojo / Primo. The 60-90 size ProX260 looks like it may be a little heavier though but with that thick wing I am sure it will fly good never the less, but I'm going to have a friend build me a Primo 60 so I'll have the best of both worlds.
I wish Aeroworks did a video that showed more 3d flight, I think they were trying to demonstrate its stability for a profile in their video. Anyhow I am sure they will fly as good as they look. That thick wing outta make her float 3d.

Airbourne2.4 , I would like to know what the plane is that Jodi is flying . Forget the yahoo's that think you have to stick to one subject all the time . There are way too many thread Nazi's on RCU . Considering we are talking about sticking the DLE20 on a slab I thank you for the vids . Cool stuff putting gas on a slab .

That Primo 60 will be great . You'll love it . I don't know that the .55ax is going to be enough . That works fine on a slab up to 5lbs . The AeroWorks 46-60 slab weights as much as the Primo 60 and it takes a Saito 100 to throw the Primo around good and to have descent pull out power .
