DLE 55 on 35cc extra?
Righr now I have a Zenoah 45 on my plane but it feels heavy while flying. I have two motors sitting around that are waiting for a new plane. One is a CRRC 40 and the other a DLE 55. Wondering which of the two motors would be a better fit. Any thoughts?

RE: DLE 55 on 35cc extra?
At your altitude (<1000') a DLE 55 will definitely be more than enough power. I have a DA-50 on one, and at 5000' I think that it is adequate power, but not overpowered. If I was at your altitude, I would tend to consider a larger 50cc airframe if I could keep the weight down to 17lbs or less. My 35cc Extra 260 with DA-50 is about 14.25 lbs.

Did you have problems mounting the motor on the firewall? Did you have to cut into the firewall? Do you have any photos of the firewall with the motor mounted?

Here is a link to pictures of my installation. It was a tight fit, but a good result.
