Default Dang!

Been shopping for an LSA. Don't know how I missed this little gem![:@] A loaded KitFox llll. A year ago, this aircraft woulda gone for at least five to eight grand more.. Was just sold for $17000.00! It's a buyer's market out there for sure!

Do you need a license to fly it or is it experimental?

The Kitfox is an Experemental requiring at least a Light Sport ticket. You are required to be licensed to fly anything but a Part 103 ultralight....

Sorry RR, did you mean it could have sold for 25,000 dollars a year ago and now it was sold for 1,700 or 17,000 dollars?

Thanks

Wow, that sounds so inexpensive for a real plane. I used to travel a lot for work, making many commercial flights, so I would buy mags at the newstands in the airports to read during the flights. One I sometimes bought was on kit planes, and the Kitfox brand always stood out like a shining star. I remember they had several models and were produced out in Nampa Caldwell, Idaho, just one state away. I thought it sure would be cool to build and fly one of these, but I don't even have a real pilot's license. While I would like one at times, most times I realize I don't want to risk my life up there, and my wife won't have it either. But I digress, that Kitfox plane you missed sure looks great...it was one of the models that appealed to me, although they all were attractive. $17k...how cheap is that! I could trade my sportscar in and have money left over at that price, but there I go dreaming, haha. One question since I do build and fly RC planes, is the spinner/prop shaft supposed to be off center in the cowl like that? Jon

Yep! They are all that way.. As for flying being dangerous. You are ten times less safe in your sports car!
