No response..

ATC a second time "Alpha Bravo Chalie contact Melbourne Centre now on one two three decimal four"

10 seconds later.. speaking with a mouth clearly full of food..

Rob "Rodger, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Melbourne Centre on 123.4, sorry, you caught me with a mouth full of lobster"

ATC... Laughing..."Alpha Bravo Charlie, sorry to disturb you.."

20 minutes later..

ATC "Alpha Bravo Charlie.. if you've finished your Lobster, contact centre on 134.5"

Rob "Alpha Bravo Charlie, Yes, i'm into the prawns now.. centre on 134.5"

Back when I was a 10 year pilot I flew the 76 to Paris. Now that I am an old and junior puke with 24 years I fly the MD-80 domestically, for the rest of my 13 years to go. But I'm not bitter.
My first year at that real international airline I hired to New York but bid Paris and Los Angeles in my standing bid. They closed the Paris base on the L-1011 that fall but I got Los Angeles so spent the winter in Hawaii. I thought it would get better from there.
We saw a lot of Dallas, Kansas City and El Paso on the last trip. Four legs a day. Being an airline pilot just isn't quite what it used to be.
Glad to see someone gets to fly to decent destinations!
