It would be nice to go again. So how are you arriving (mode of transportation) and where are you staying (camping on the grounds, off the grounds or in a nearby motel? Have you checked out the special seminars, presentations, programs at the amphitheater at night, etc using the EAA website sources? As I remember the Historic aircraft association had a special catered dinner one night (for a fee) that was worthwhile. The regular food sources got kind of monotonous after a few days. Will you be helping in the AMA booth?
I went in 2001, 2003, and 2005 via a 1949 Cessna 170 and camped on the grounds. Seemed like each trip we were further from the main area as it sure depends on your date of arrival as to where they lead you in to park. There was always one good rain each trip. During the last trip I went to a presentation by Kirby Chambliss on Red Bull racing and another "seminar" on the then new Pitts Model 12. I discovered the time and location by sifting through the EAA's website resources.
Alas, the owner of the Cessna sold his plane shortly after those "adventures"are now in the past.
Have a good and safe trip and enjoy all there is to take in!!
Best regards,
Garyss

My buddy and I are flying into Appleton on Saturday evening and leaving Wednesday evening. We will be staying at the college dorms (that ought to bring back memories)....my buddy is building an RV12 (full scale) and has signed up for a bunch of seminars and I have volunteered to do 'volunteering' for the days I'm there.
