Haha well put Joel. I don't think many actually are able to.
However, you might just be flammed to death because of this post. Take care !!
Sacre Joel, toujours le post pour rire ...
And by the way, what about that 787 that would reportedly be "on time" ? What about the delays ?
Oh I've read Boeing might sue I dunno who about this contract. I've read that the congress could "block" the deal. Is that what you call "free trade" ? Free trade only when it comes to US companies winning contracts. Boeing loser [sm=drowning.gif]. Period. Move on.

Cordialement

Have to use it when working on vehicles and other things in the US anymore as it is more and more accepted.
It is interesting that a lot of French Workers are not happy with the fact the the tankers will be built or modified over here. Instead they feel that it should be built completely in Europe.
So it seems that we have more in common than you think, as it seems that we are all proud of what our country can do and want the jobs to stay as close as possible. Of course even the 767 is not entirely made here but has many parts that come from other locations. I do not know of a manufacture that does not out source a large qty. of their work overseas anymore. I have heard thru a few sources that Dussalt is looking at building a factory over here to build Falcon Jets as the cost of labor is low when compared to France. They will keep the military aircraft over there but civil aircraft are being looked at being moved to save cost and increase profits for the company. A number of companies have done this already from Asia, Toyota, Honda etc. They have built plants here to cut cost in the building of cars and trucks. It provides good paying jobs in the US and helps local economies by increasing the tax base that the communites rely on. Aircraft is very much a global environment and we all depended upon each other to get these aircraft built.
It will be interesting to see how things turn out as Boeing has decieded to protest the awarding of the contract to EADS / Northrup Grumman.
So it looks like it will be a little while longer before we find out who will be building the new Tankers.
But the fallout from this could hurt everyone wether you are on this side of the pond or on the other side.

In my book anyone that builds an aircraft that can only land on just a handfull of airports around the world ain't too brilliant.
Aloha,

Aloha,
Not an entirely sensible statement, - I seem to remember someone in 1969 saying exactly the same thing, (referring to the Boeing 747,) but as we all know, it still went ahead successfully!

RE: INCREDIBLE PLANE ! LOOK !
Awesome would be seeing the same thing at max weight.
Any airplane can do that type of flying at empty weight or minimal weight.
Was on a Dash8-400 during a demo flight over Augsburg, Germany a few years back and it was a blast to ride in as the Pilot did a fly-by over the field.
Was also at Farnbourgh the same year watching the air show from show center on the parking ramp for the airplanes that were flying during the show or after.
Talk about a great time setting there watching the airplanes fly right over your head. It was a rush that I will never forget.

RE: INCREDIBLE PLANE ! LOOK !
well with the way gas prices are going here in states. I think they'll be parking the airbuses and rolling out gliders and 152's cuz that big tin can cannot be cheap to fill. LOL what ever happened to that main gear issue on the 380? it couldnt take tight turns because the main gear isnt articulated like the 777 and tires were rolling off the rim. I'm not sarting stuff just don't remember hearing the solution. Oh and as for size AN225 got us all beat. Built in 1988 no one has made anything bigger or that can lift more. 640 tons
p.s they dont call em scare bus for nothing,...sorry.

french is it?,don't think so buddy!
The project began as the Future International Military Airlifter (FIMA) group, set up in 1982 by Aerospatiale, British Aerospace, Lockheed, and MBB to develop a replacement for the C-130 Hercules and C-160 Transall.

By the way, Aerospatiale (which lately became EADS with a merger with German companies) is French.

Looks like Airbus Industries is getting their act together :
Emirate airways took delivery of their first ( of 58 ! ) A380 at the Airbus plant in Hamburg, Germany, at the same time another deal for another 60 Airbus planes ( 30 ea A330 and A350 ) was announced.
==>http://www.usatoday.com/travel/fligh...s_N.htm?csp=34
AI admits that production of the A380 is still lagging at only one unit per month, but they expect to be up to several units per month by the end of the year.

Well, if you think aviation innovations are going downward in the U.S., you have fallen asleep, or possibly you, as a Frenchman, discount the cutting edge innovations in the military? You know, stealth, supercruise, intercept missles... maybe you missed that insignificant first private space flight thing a few months ago?
Yeah, it's a shame we here in the U.S. live in such a aeropace-backward environment- please lead the way, France.
On a more serious note, anyone want to venture a guess as to whether this guy is a troll or just a bozo?

Yeah, that's a great achievement. A great choice for us modellers ! Too bad innovations/number of manufacturers is going down.
