Default RDS8000 Programing to turn on LED lights

I have the Airtronics RDS8000 Transmitter and I've been trying to fugure out how to set the programming to turn on/off my LED lights on the airplane. I'm using all channels except the Retract Landing Gear and AUX channels, so they're free to use. Tim

This should do the job for you and very inexpensive.

That looks like it would work but isn't there a way to have a channel send the signal to the lights be ON or OFF, or OPEN or CLOSED?

Yes, as you said you have the gear and flaps channell unused. You would plug in the PicoSwitch to the gear channell and by flipping the gear switch turn the lights on or off.
