Default Temperature limits for Airtronics 2.4ghz receivers?

What are the temperature limits for Airtronics receivers? With the recent heat wave going through many parts of the country, and more specifically in Chicago where I live, I'm thinking that leaving my small plane in the trunk of my car so I can go flying after work is NOTsuch a good idea. The specific receiver in question is the RX500 5ch 2.4ghz RX. I also have an 8ch 92824 receiver that is going in my next small plane for the same reason. I know it gets really hot in a car in summer...how hot is too hot for these receivers?

A plane in the car and worse yet the trunk is a bad idea in this heat.

The RX mostlikely being unpowered will survive OK although I wouldn't subject mine to it.

I'd be more concerned for the airframe warping in some manner.

Try to avoid this at all cost, or keep the car absolutely in the shade.

The receiver is stable above boiling (100c/212f). As Mike has said the issue is the airframe and battery more than the receiver.

Thanks for the feedback...the airframe is foam, and I bring the batteries in to work in a firesafe lipo bag.

Mike

I guess this is a "mike" thread (;>)

Even foam melts or distorts in the heat. You might end up with a boomarang
