Aitronics Sanwa SD-10G combined/ separate trim save

The SD 10 transmitter offers to save all the trim functions either

    separate
    or
    combined

for all flight conditions, but not separately in each flight condition.

This makes sense for the 3 flight axes, but not for throttle.
With other brands you can choose for each flight condition, and for each function separately, (ail, elev, rud, throttle) either to be stored combined (for all flight cond.) or separate in each flight condition.

Especially for RC jets there is a strong need to store the throttle combined for all flight conditions (due to start and stop the engine with trim), and the axes to be stored separately (especially elev due to retract caused CG changes) for each flight condition.
This is not possible with the SD 10. You have to check that the trim is really full up, otherwise you stop the engine intentionally with throttle low (happened to me).

Does Sanwa offer an update in firmware/software update with the mentioned separate store function in each flight condition?

    Any helpful answer is welcome

    regards

RE: Aitronics Sanwa SD-10G combined/ separate trim save

The SD-10G has been out for over a year and Airtronics hasn't given the least hint about an update.

On your jet, don't use the throttle trim. Just put it in the middle and set the Trim Step to 1. Would be nice if that could be made 0 so the trim is disabled.

Then set Throttle Cut to Sw 28 and make that the engine off setting. Sw 29 becomes the run position. Set Sw 30 to Throttle Hold for the pre-shutdown rpm. So Sw 28 turns the engine off, Sw 29 allows it to run and Sw 30 sets the cooldown rpm. This simulates the trim function for the JetCat. I set Th Hold to -70% and Th-Cut to -120% with a throttle range of +/- 100%. Yours may be different. Then do a Learn RC assuming you use a JetCat. Other engines may be different. If it is a JetCat and you want to use the engine Low Idle function (half throttle trim), I set Idle Down to -40% and assign it to the sw that gives full flaps for those airplanes that won't slow down.

Note: Th-Cut will override the throttle stick and turn the motor off regardless. I also assign push button 32 to the Throttle Cut so as to have another way to shut the engine down quickly.

Using trim only sounds a bit outdated anyway.

Several of my jet friends are also using a similar method with their Futaba radios with good results. Maybe this will work out well for you.

Did not want to hit anyone with my remark. Only tried to support Thuds suggestion using all the new and nice stuff the SD10 software offers. Cheers.
